Yahweh

I am admittedly picky about Christian pop/rock - there are few bands out there that I really love and think are unique. Needtobreathe is one of those bands. Perhaps my favorite new(ish?) worship song is "Yahweh;" the words ring so true.

Yahweh, Yahweh,
Great is Your glory, when You go before me...

Here's a video I found on YouTube of the band performing this song:

I strive to glorify the Lord by truly being the "signature of divine" - the image of Him that He made me to be.

In so doing, Jason and I are finally members of Westover! It only took 5 years of being regular attenders! We love many things about Westover: the Godly friends we have met there, the preaching, the LifeCommunity we attend. But I think the most important thing about our church is that it is completely Bible-based, rather than driven by tradition. The church staff and leaders take great care in consulting the Bible for both big and small decisions, and they share the verses that lead to those decisions.

We have not been "presented" to the congregation yet as new members, but that should happen within a month or so.

27 weeks

I had a better picture, but the computer messed it up! Oh well, this one's pretty good.

A little concern...

Today was another doctor's appointment! I had a really syrupy fruit punch for the glucose test (testing for gestational diabetes) that I had to drink in 5 minutes. It had so much sugar that I was hot and almost sweating by the time I finished it. I will get the results of that test tomorrow - hopefully I will pass and that will be that!

During the "weigh and measure" part of the appointment, we got to hear baby's heartbeat again. This time, we listened for a little bit, then the doctor pushed the baby around so he would move. His heart rate increased from 120 (still) to 140 (moving)! It was neat to hear the difference.

The doctor scheduled me for another appointment in 2 weeks because of a little concern: I am measuring smaller than normal for this stage. He said it could just mean I'll have a smaller baby, but he wants to make sure that it doesn't mean something worse: low amniotic fluid or that the baby is not growing. So if you think about it, just pray that our little guy is continuing to grow and that the next appointment will prove that!

Husband Survey

Things in the baby department are going great here - no big updates! So, here are some things about Jason and me that you may or may not know!

How long have you been married? 3 and 1/2 years.
How long did you date? Not long - 9 months before getting engaged and 6 month engagement. (When you know, you know!)
How old is he? 29...2 years older than me :)
Who eats more? Hmm, that's debatable, especially since I'm pregnant!
Who said I love you first? He did.
Who is taller? Jason is 5 or 6 inches taller than me.
Who sings better? Me :) He knows this.
Whose temper is worse? Him! I'm a crier, he's a get-mad-er.
Who does the laundry? Me...except he has to fold his own socks since he's pretty particular about it.
Who does the dishes? Jason most of the time.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? He does, although he wants to switch because he doesn't like routine.
Who pays the bills? He does.
Who cooks dinner? Me, or sometimes both of us.
Who drives when you are together? Usually Jason - he thinks it's a manly duty.
Who is more stubborn? We're both very stubborn, but I think he wins.
Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? Me usually.
Whose parents do you see the most? Depends on the season - definitely his during the fall (football games) but right now we see mine more.

Okay, I'm tagging Amy, Leigh Anne, and Devon to do this survey - your turn ladies! :)

Middle Name

You might notice that I have changed the "ticker" above all the posts on here. We are fairly certain that Russell's middle name will be Micah. It's a family name on Jason's side (Jason's middle name and his dad's first name). I think it flows nicely, don't you?

Also, the doctor's office still has June 17 as my official due date, not June 21, as we've been telling everyone! That's why the days/weeks on the ticker have changed a little. But here's a fact for you: according to Parents.com, only 5% of babies are born on their due date. So it doesn't really matter anyway - he will be here whenever God is ready for him to make his appearance!

Rainy Weekend

This weekend has been rainy and cold: perfect for relaxing. On Friday night, we went out to dinner and saw a play with Josh and Leigh Anne. The play was called Moonlight and Magnolias, and it was about a producer in the 1930s trying to make a movie of Gone with the Wind. We had a lot of fun! Yesterday I did some chores and errands, baked some cookies (yum), and decorated some letters for the nursery. When my parents were here, my mom and I got some wooden letters spelling out "Russell" and scrapbooking paper to cover them. I finally got around to decorating them yesterday, and I think they look pretty good! When we put them in the nursery, I will get a picture of them and put it up here.

Otherwise, nothing's really happening right now! So here's a little update on our little guy:

Russell is getting bigger now: he should be about 1 foot long and weigh about 1 and 1/2 lbs. I'm getting bigger too - see the picture below taken Thursday.
