Paige’s Baby Shower(s)

I’m 33 weeks pregnant with Paige – wow! It has really flown this time. She has had 2 little baby showers thrown by sweet friends of ours.

The first was a few weeks ago: the girls in my prayer group surprised me with cupcakes and presents during our monthly prayer time. Paige got several sweet little outfits, since I had told the girls that we lost half of Meredith’s 0-3 month clothes! (Still can’t find them!) This was the only picture I got, unfortunately!

The second shower was at Village Tavern tonight. I was prepared with my camera this time! Paige received several items off of our (very small) registry. Yes, we have a registry – several of our baby things have either been used up or worn out!

Bibs, for example – our children have gone through some bibs, so Miss Paige was blessed with new ones!

My friend Jenn made the delicious cupcakes! (Picture taken after some had been eaten!)

Wonderful friends:

Thank you to both groups of friends for such sweet gestures! We’re grateful to have great ladies for Paige to look up to!

Strawberry Picking

It had been 2 years since we went strawberry picking last! Meredith was (I think) a month old and Russell was just shy of 2 years old the last time we went. What a different experience!

We went at 9 am on Friday, which proved to be a good call because this pregnant lady could not even handle the sun come 10:30! We picked the strawberries first before moving on to other activities. I think Russell was game for helping me put them in the bucket, but when he noticed that Meredith was just eating them, he followed!

There were so many ripe, juicy strawberries this year – a great selection!

It’s a working farm, so we got to pet and feed the goats after picking strawberries. I am positive this was the kids’ favorite part – they loved the goats! They kept telling them, “oh, you’re such a nice goat” and they were very gentle when petting them.

Next (after washing hands!) we got some homemade strawberry ice cream – mmmmm:

What a nice way to spend the morning, and it led to great afternoon naps. Perfect!

Spring Soccer

Russell did 6 weeks of soccer again this spring. He – and all the kids – did such a great job! Monday was their last day. They met to practice 1x/week for 6 weeks and learned the (offensive) soccer skills without the games. There were 3 girls and 2 boys on the “team”.  Shannon (the coach) does such a great job with their age group.

“Stretching” – this is what 3 year olds do when they touch their toes Smile

Getting ready to dribble:

Trapping the ball:

Ready to score!

Hands in – I think they said “yay soccer!”

They all got medals for participating. (Hey, I didn’t make the rules.)

Maybe in the fall we’ll try soccer with actual games – we will see! But we have enjoyed this season!
