Russell’s birthday party was yesterday!
Of course he wanted a CARS party! We had a lunchtime party at the house. In addition to car-themed activities, we had some water play too. There were record temperatures this weekend!
Décor/food before the party (I didn’t quite get all the food in the photos):
Birthday boy and sissy before the party started:
When the guests arrived, there was a little activity for the kids.
The theme for lunch was “easy!” Chick-Fil-A chicken nuggets, chips, pasta salad and fruit salad (courtesy of Kacki), chips, cheese and crackers, strawberry fluff salad, M&Ms.
Then, we headed outside for some fun. A friend brought over a water table, which the kids enjoyed, along with playing on the swing set! A few of the kids (especially Ollie) liked the squirt guns I bought.
The kids loved the water balloons! They didn’t understand a water balloon fight or toss, but they all had a great time throwing them on the ground.
If you’ve ever seen CARS (like I have every day of my life for the last year), you know about Ramone, the car with a paint shop called “Ramone’s House of Body Art.” We set up a Ramone’s House of Body Art outside with temporary tattoos for the kids. They enjoyed it!
After a little outside fun, we went back in for cake and presents. After a few tries, Russell blew out 2 of the 3 candles himself – I helped him with the third.
Typical kid, Russell was so excited about the presents all day. It was work to keep him away! He knew he wanted to open “the digger present” (it had digger wrapping paper) first:
…and it was hard to get him to open anything else! He hasn’t put those down since he got them yesterday. He also received books, clothes, a water table, some games, some play food, and several other things – he is a lucky boy!
What a fun party! We are so thankful to everyone who came and celebrated with us!
