“Co-Op School”
We’re doing an experimental, once a week homeschool preschool co-op with some friends. Today was our first day! Everyone was excited, and I think it went pretty well.
Miss Jennifer reminding the kids about sitting still and criss-cross-applesauce.
We have a schedule of 30 minutes of play, 30 minutes of school, 30 minutes of snack/potty/free time, 30 more minutes of school.
First craft – going along with our discussion of calendars and weather.
Snack time!
Can’t wait to see how all the kids learn and grow this year!
Mono
So, my illness that started while the kids were at their grandparents’ house has been officially diagnosed: mono. Ugh. I am achy, tired, weak, have headaches and fevers that come and go…and I’m still taking care of 2 little ones. For those who aren’t familiar (I wasn’t), mono can last weeks or months. It’s not too contagious with regular hand-washing. From my standpoint, I’d liken it to feeling like you have the flu but without the nausea.
Yet, we are blessed. Jason and the kids don’t have it. Some amazing friends brought us dinner on Saturday – it about made me cry, the sweetness of the gesture! - and more have offered. We have wonderful family who are willing to help.
I’m reading the Duggars’ second book right now. A quote from Michelle seems totally applicable: “Instead of focusing on the difficulties that sometimes happen and wondering why they’ve happened, we try to maintain a positive focus and a curious attitude, watching eagerly for the miraculous way God is going to use each temporary setback to do something wonderful.”

Café Dinner
Well, I was hoping to write about our amazing weekend sans kids (who stayed with Paw Paw and Kacki for a couple days). However, as things go, I got a virus and our weekend was less amazing than planned. So instead I will post photos from picking up the kids and having dinner with the grandparents tonight.
I still don’t feel up to par, but these little faces always make me smile.
School Pictures
Russell’s summer school pictures were taken about a month ago. We decided not to order any, but we did keep the proofs because we both thought they were adorable – well, as fake backgrounds and school pictures go, anyway Here they are!

iFamily
…oh, except this one. Jason and my dad and Russell were exercising – planking during every Olympics commercial break!
Meghan is used to kids – she teaches and nannies. Russell had a great time with her!
Jon tended bar for us!
Meredith loves Bogie. My kids scare that poor dog to death sometimes.
Jason and I were there too, I promise! Maybe next time we’ll make it into the photos!

Best Buds
She wants to do whatever he does. He wanted to cover up and read on the couch, so guess what she wanted to do?
And he wants to do whatever she does. She was rocking in the glider. He joined in.
And they both love to chase.
I tell them all the time and now he says it too: “We’re two sweet kiddos.”
