One Month Check-Up

Russell's one month doctor's visit was on Monday afternoon. The doctor said he was perfect - but we already knew that :) He did pretty well at the appointment. The last time we went, he just screamed the entire time, but this time he only cried for a few minutes - was just awake and content the rest of the time! The doctor did comment on what a "talker" he is - he made his usual grunts and coos while there.

His stats:
22 3/4 inches long - 90th percentile! One tall drink of water!
10 lbs, 2.5 oz - 60th percentile
37 3/4 cm head circumference - 40th percentile

One Month Old!

Can you believe this little boy is already 1 month old? We can't!

We are still trying to figure him out, and he's trying to figure out the world, but we love him so. There are so many things we've learned about Russell already
~He loves the outdoors - walking with Jason in the Baby Bjorn or with me in the stroller almost always calms him down if he's fussy.

~Also loves his paci; we're thankful to whomever invented those!

~He is a champion eater! Loves to eat!

~He has several signature facial expressions, but two to note: the "serious face" where he knits his eyebrows together with a set mouth, and the "Cheerio face" where he raises his eyebrows and his mouth goes into a tiny "O". So cute!

~He has a sensitive tummy :( I'm experimenting with cutting different foods out of my diet to find out which ones bother him. It's a difficult exercise, but if it helps him, it will be worth it!

Also, today was Russell's first Sunday at church - he lasted about 10 minutes in the service, in between 2 diaper changes and a feeding! But he sure looked handsome - here's a family picture:

Monday Lunch Playdate

On Monday, our friend Debbie invited several of us over for a lunchtime playdate. Well, I suppose it wasn't really a playdate, since the babies didn't exactly play (except 10-month-old Ella), but the moms had fun!

Thanks for having us, Debbie! It was so nice to get out of the house for a bit and enjoy some social time :)

Friends

Russell met his friend Parker for the first time today! We were happy to see Chad and Devon, who came over after church. Parker was born on May 25, and Russell on June 25, so Parker's birthday will be easy for us to remember :)

Russell's First Stroller Ride

The weather was beautiful yesterday afternoon, so Jason and I took advantage by deciding to take Russell on his first stroller adventure! We went to Fourth of July park, a little park near our home. It has lots of trees, good for both scenery and shade, and a little creek. There are also tennis courts, a skateboard park, basketball courts, a playground - lots of fun things for when Russell gets older!

As you can see, Russell had no idea he went anywhere - he slept through the whole thing! Oh well, Jason and I had a lovely time :)
