- Wearing size 0-3 (the bigger ones) and 3-6 mo clothes
- Wearing size 1 or 2 diapers
- Nursing: about every 2.5-3 hours during the day, and usually twice at night : ( She was doing so well for about a month at sleeping from 9:30 pm – 4 am or so, but lately that is a rare occurrence.
- Napping: People ask me how often she naps; honestly, it’s all over the board. It totally depends on what we’re doing for the day and where we are. I was so regimented with the other two, and it’s just not possible to do that with Paige. Thankfully, she is very easygoing no matter when she naps.
- Nighttime sleep: We can usually get her to sleep by about 10 pm, and she usually wakes up twice to nurse (around 1:30 and 5:30) and wakes for the day around 8 am.
Paige seems to have a favorite toy now: a little blue elephant that makes a jangling noise and hooks onto her activity mat. She still likes her paci but since she can’t find it herself, she is often sucking her hands/fingers/thumb. She is pretty indiscriminant with her smiles and coos, but I do think Russell is one of her favorite people – she smiles very quickly when he talks to her!
A note about sleep: Jason and I are VERY big proponents of sleep training a la Ferber (as I’m sure I’ve said on this blog). Usually we start this around 3-4 months old. However, the whole premise of it is that the baby needs to have most/all of her naps and sleep in the same place every time. We decided we’re going to hold off on sleep training with Paige because it’s really not feasible to have her always sleep in her crib – we have to be able to take the kids out to play, to friends’ houses, to co-op, etc. If Paige really starts waking up a lot at night because of this, we’ll have to reevaluate, but for now everything is going okay.
They saw me taking pictures of her and really wanted to be in one!
Happy quarter-year, Paige! (Doesn’t it sound older to say it that way?!)
